Pup Genius — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pup Genius ("Pup Genius," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Pup Genius mobile application and related services (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the App and personalize your experience:

• Account information — your name, email address, and sign-in identifier when you create an account (via email, Google, or Apple sign-in).
• Dog profiles — information you enter about your dog(s), such as name, breed, age, and health or training notes.
• Training activity — lessons completed, courses, progress, XP, levels, badges, and live-session usage.
• AI conversations — the text, questions, and prompts you send to the in-app AI trainer.
• Live session audio & video — when you start a live voice or video session, your microphone audio and camera video are streamed in real time to our AI provider for coaching (see Section 3). This content is processed to generate responses and is not stored by us as recordings.
• Community content — posts, comments, and other content you choose to share, which may be visible to other users.
• Purchase information — records of subscriptions or credit purchases. Payments are processed by Apple; we receive confirmation of your purchase but not your full payment card details.
• Basic usage & device data — limited technical information needed to operate the App reliably and diagnose problems.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, personalize, and improve the App and its training guidance.
• To power the AI trainer and live coaching features.
• To sync your data across your devices and preserve it if you reinstall or sign in on a new device.
• To process purchases and manage subscriptions and credits.
• To maintain safety, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How Your Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the App:

• Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database, and hosting. Your account and app data are stored on Google's infrastructure.
• Google (Gemini AI) — your AI chat content and live-session audio/video are processed by Google's AI services to generate coaching responses, subject to Google's terms.
• Apple — processes in-app purchases and subscriptions through the App Store.

Content you post in community areas is shared with other users by design. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Camera & Microphone

The App requests access to your camera and microphone solely to provide live voice and video coaching sessions. These are used only during active live sessions and only with your permission. You can revoke access at any time in your device settings.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and associated data at any time from within the App, or by contacting us at the email below. Upon deletion, we remove your personal data from our active systems, except where retention is required by law.

6. Children's Privacy

Pup Genius is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including the security features of our cloud providers, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to this processing.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
